Our status

Equity Fountain is registered in England and Wales under company number 08753201. Equity Fountain is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and does not provide regulated financial advice, personal recommendations, investment advice, mortgage advice, equity-release advice, tax advice, legal advice, estate-planning advice or probate advice.

What we provide

Equity Fountain provides professional users with access to information, research tools, educational material, software, calculators, modelling tools, market information, product information, reports, presentations, training resources and related professional content. Nothing on the website, platform, member area, downloadable material, AI service, calculator, report, presentation, webinar or training course constitutes a personal recommendation or advice to any subscriber or end client. Where regulated advice is required, it must be provided by an appropriately authorised and qualified person or firm.

1. Business-to-business service

The service is intended primarily for persons acting for purposes relating to their trade, business, profession or employment. By purchasing a subscription the subscriber confirms that they are entering into the agreement as a business or professional user and not as a consumer. Subscribers are responsible for ensuring that they hold any permissions, licences, qualifications, registrations or authorisations required for the activities they undertake. Equity Fountain does not verify or guarantee the regulatory status, competency, qualifications or permissions of every subscriber unless expressly stated.

2. Purpose of the service

Resources may include equity-release market information, provider information, product information, published rates, lending criteria, product features, calculators, projection and modelling tools, case scenarios, educational materials, Fountain AI, research tools, provider comparisons, client-report templates, client-facing educational materials, presentations, white-label resources, adviser training, webinars, market updates, downloadable documents, API services and other professional resources. The service assists professional users with research, administration, education and client communication. It does not replace the subscriber's own professional judgement, regulatory obligations, suitability assessment, compliance process, due diligence or independent verification.

3. No financial advice

Equity Fountain does not recommend that any person enters into an equity-release arrangement; does not recommend any particular provider or product; does not determine product suitability or client eligibility; does not approve applications; does not arrange regulated financial products; and does not provide personalised financial, tax, legal, probate or inheritance-tax advice. Any decision made by a subscriber or their client remains the responsibility of the subscriber and, where relevant, the client and the appropriately authorised advisory firm.

4. Subscriber responsibility

The subscriber remains solely responsible for assessing the needs and circumstances of their clients; determining whether any product or strategy is appropriate; carrying out their own due diligence; checking current provider information, product documentation, rates and lending criteria; checking eligibility; assessing affordability and suitability; meeting regulatory obligations and professional standards; maintaining appropriate records; obtaining appropriate client consent; determining whether additional specialist advice is required; checking tax, estate-planning, benefit, probate and inheritance implications; and verifying information before communicating it to a client. The subscriber must not rely exclusively on Equity Fountain as the sole basis for a recommendation or advice.

5. Verification of information

Providers may change rates, products, product availability, fees, loan-to-value limits, underwriting criteria, property criteria, age criteria, repayment options, early repayment charges, product features and terms at any time. Although Equity Fountain may display source information, effective dates or verification dates, the subscriber must verify material product information directly against the relevant provider's current official documentation before relying upon it. A subscriber must not assume that information remains current merely because it is displayed on the platform.

6. No warranty of completeness or accuracy

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Equity Fountain does not warrant or guarantee that information made available through the service is complete, error-free, continuously available, suitable for any particular purpose, current at every moment, or applicable to every client circumstance. Information may be obtained from third parties, providers, public sources, licensed data suppliers, documents, APIs and automated systems, and may contain errors or be changed without notice.

7. Fountain AI

Fountain AI is an artificial-intelligence-assisted research and drafting tool. Outputs may include summaries, explanations, comparisons, draft content or information retrieved from Equity Fountain's data sources, and must be reviewed before use. Fountain AI must not be treated as an adviser, a compliance officer, a tax adviser, a lawyer, an underwriter, a provider or a suitability system. The subscriber is responsible for checking every material fact before using AI-generated output with a client.

8. Calculators and modelling

All calculators, projections and modelling tools are illustrative. Outputs depend on the assumptions and data entered and may be affected by interest rates, compounding, property-value, repayment, timing and drawdown assumptions, tax treatment, provider terms and future market conditions. A calculation produced by Equity Fountain is not a formal lender illustration unless expressly identified as such and produced through an authorised lender or approved system. Subscribers must not present an Equity Fountain calculation as a guaranteed outcome.

9. Client reports and presentations

Reports, presentations, client guides and white-label materials are templates and professional-support materials. The subscriber must review and approve any material before giving it to an end client, and is responsible for ensuring the information is appropriate and current, that all required regulatory disclosures are included, that the information is fair, clear and not misleading, that any recommendation is supported by the subscriber's own assessment, and that any required provider illustration or specialist advice is obtained.

10. Tax, HMRC, probate and inheritance matters

Equity Fountain does not provide tax, inheritance-tax, estate-planning, probate or HMRC advice; information on these subjects is educational and general. The subscriber is responsible for determining whether specialist tax or legal advice should be obtained. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Equity Fountain does not accept responsibility for decisions made by subscribers or clients relating to taxation, inheritance tax, gifts, estate planning, probate, benefits, trusts, HMRC enquiries or investigations, tax liabilities or estate administration where those decisions arise from the subscriber's own advice, interpretation or use of Equity Fountain materials.

11. End clients

The subscriber is responsible for their relationship with their own clients. No end client becomes a client of Equity Fountain merely because an adviser uses Equity Fountain information, reports, presentations, calculations or materials. Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, Equity Fountain does not assume any duty to an end client of a subscriber, and the subscriber must not represent Equity Fountain as being responsible for the subscriber's advice or recommendation.

12. Professional judgement

Equity Fountain provides tools and information. The subscriber provides professional judgement. By purchasing and using the service, the subscriber accepts responsibility for determining whether and how Equity Fountain information is used.
